Omaha Track Equipment, an established Omaha based company, is seeking an Installation Technician to join our growing organization in the fast-paced heavy equipment industry. The Installation Technician is responsible for building, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining all types of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment, specializing in hi-rail trucks, cranes, and other equipment related to the railroad industry.  

Major Responsibilities:

• Read basic work orders and interpret/follow schematics, drawings, and instructions
• Plan ahead for designated work assignments, laying out jobs prior to assembly
• Build a variety of part and install boxes and specialty components to truck chassis’
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components and systems
• Prepare test builds for final inspection; ensure all vehicle fluid systems are filled for final inspection
• Inspect and maintain company vehicles and equipment in accordance with policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of the Installation Technician Apprentice Program, or equivalent experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is preferred
• Valid driver’s license required (must not have any major driving offenses within the last three years)
• Class A or Class B CDL is preferred, but not require
• Strong mechanical background, with the ability to demonstrate proficiency for all required skill sets and effectively troubleshoot problems on new assembly and/or repair work on older equipment
• Must work well with others on a team, while still being able to complete tasks independently
• Effective written & verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong mathematical skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively manage multiple tasks/job assignments per day
